WHAT WE DO
Nutrition Care Services
TANCO is mitigating malnutrition and fighting with Non - Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in the community by providing nutrition care services in respective areas such as schools, Hospitals, Orphanage Center, Public and Private Offices etc. The activity aim to educate the public about nutrition and its impacts on individuals ,families and society at large .The activity include training sessions, workshops ,nutrition assessment, counseling and education materials that provide information on the symptoms, causes and treatments of nutrition diseases
Community outreaches
The activity involve reaching out to the community through partnership with local government, schools, universities, and community centers The activity includes public speaking engagements, interactive workshop, nutrition assessments and awareness raising events that promote nutrition awareness.
Women Empowerment
Empowerment and training of women to be leaders in nutrition-sensitive approaches so as to improve their nutritional status and that of their children. Improvement in women's empowerment is expected to lead to well-being of children inform of reduction in their nutritional status also, improving households dietary intake that result in good nutrition status of their households. Moreover, women empowerment expected to be in preparing seminars, workshops and conferences in providing various entrepreneurship education and exploring economic and development opportunity around their given localities
Water sanitation and hygiene promotion
Training parents and care givers on household hygiene such as clean water and sanitation that improving access to reduce infection and disease like diarrhea which is the basic cause of undernutrition. Washing caregivers and children’s hands with soap before preparing and eating foods is one of the most important ways of preventing germs from getting into food and avoiding diarrhoea and poor growth in young children.

Integrated Nutrition and Health Systems Strengthening
Objective: Enhance health systems to prioritize nutrition as an integral component
Approach:
Collaborate with health facilities to integrate nutrition services (e.g., screening, counseling) into routine healthcare.
Train healthcare workers on nutrition assessment, treatment, and referrals.
Advocate for policy changes that embed nutrition within broader health programs.
Nutrition-Sensitive Social Protection and Resilience Programs
Objective: Address food insecurity and vulnerability through social safety nets.
Approach:
Work with governments and NGOs to design and implement cash transfer programs.
Link social protection with nutrition education and behavior change.
Build resilience by supporting livelihood diversification and climate-smart agriculture
Data-Driven Nutrition Advocacy and Accountability:
Objective: Influence policies and investments using evidence-based advocacy.
Approach:
Conduct rigorous research on nutrition outcomes, gaps, and best practices.
Engage in high-level dialogues with policymakers, emphasizing data-driven arguments.
Monitor progress and hold stakeholders accountable for nutrition commitments.
Water sanitationMulti-Sectorial Partnerships for Sustainable Impact and hygiene promotion
Objective: Foster collaboration across sectors (agriculture, education, water, etc.) for lasting change.
Approach:
Form alliances with diverse stakeholders (government, private sector, civil society).
Jointly address underlying determinants of malnutrition (e.g., sanitation, education).
Leverage funding and expertise from multiple sources.
